In the past 2018, many industry people have seen it as a milestone year for the new energy vehicle market. In this year, not only the macroscopic traditional car enterprises opened up the electrification transformation layout, the new energy vehicle policies in the two major markets of China and the United States were adjusted, and the sales on the micro level were greatly increased. According to the statistics of the well-known electric vehicle data organization EV Sales, the global electric vehicle sales exceeded 20 million units in 2018, an increase of 72% year-on-year. At the same time, EV Sales predicts that global electric vehicles are expected to reach 3.5 million vehicles in 2019.
We screened the top ten electric vehicles in the world in 2018. It is worth mentioning that the cumulative sales of these ten cars accounted for 30% of the total sales, and the head effect is very obvious. Among them, the self-owned brand models have reached the top four.
First place: Tesla Model 3
Cumulative sales: 145,846 vehicles
For the time being, Tesla is still the leading brand in the global electric vehicle market, and all three models are listed in the top five. The Model 3, the champion model, is a leader in the world. And Model 3 has officially opened a reservation in mainland China, the lowest price of 430,000 yuan, I believe it will attract many buyers, no accident, the total sales of Model 3 will be more improved in 2019. But at the same time, we also saw Tesla's "crisis", that is, electric vehicles from traditional car companies such as Volkswagen brands are domestically produced in China. Their prices are cheaper and their positioning is more suitable for mainstream Chinese consumers. Before the "elephants" woke up completely, it was not much time left for the emerging car companies such as Tesla.
Second place: Beiqi EC series
Cumulative sales: 90,637 vehicles
The BAIC EC series achieved great success in 2018 and achieved the highest sales volume in the domestic market. This proves that the domestic low-end electric vehicle market demand exists and cannot be ignored.
Third place: Nissan Leaf
Cumulative sales: 87,149 vehicles
We do not know whether the sales of the domestic Sylphy electric version are counted in the listening style. After all, the essence of the former is the type of the windmill. If you count the total amount of the wind, I believe that the total sales data of Nissan Leaf in 2019 will be very good, and it is not impossible to return to the top.
Fourth place: Tesla MODEL S
Cumulative sales: 50045 vehicles
Tesla's most famous production, although it has been around for many years, still has a good market fever. However, we believe that with the continuous emergence of high-end electric vehicles, the competitiveness of MODEL S will continue to weaken in the future until it is eliminated.
Fifth place: Tesla MODEL X
Cumulative sales: 49,349 vehicles
At this stage, MODEL X is still the strongest player in the electric SUV market. I believe that this situation will not change in the short term, but the higher price limits the performance of MODEL X, and the strong rivals such as Audi e-tron are in a strong position. We expect it will not have much sales growth in 2019.
Sixth place: BYD Qin
Cumulative sales: 47,452 vehicles
As the first self-owned brand car to subvert the "performance" label, Qin ushered in the replacement of Qin Pro last year. Not only has the design been revolutionized, but the product strength has been greatly improved in all aspects. It is a benchmark for independent electric cars. However, in 2019, there will be many traditional car enterprise electric vehicle products entering the market, which is no small test for Qin Pro.
Seventh place: Jianghuai iEV
Cumulative sales: 46,586 vehicles
The JAC iEV series products are more complicated, up to four models, and there are also SUVs and cars. The positioning and price of each product are also different. We don't know which EV Sales statistics are specific to which model, or the total sales of the iEV series. However, Jianghuai iEV, which is integrated into the public production line, has a small advantage in quality control. I believe that there will be good performance in the future.
Eighth place: BYD e5
Cumulative sales: 46,251 vehicles
From today's perspective, e5's competitiveness is not very strong. The same budget, obviously buying Qin Pro is more cost-effective. As a new energy product of BYD, the e5 should be upgraded to gain a foothold.
Ninth place: Toyota Prius PHEV
Cumulative sales: 45,686 vehicles
Maybe someone will ask if the Prius is not mixed? In fact, the Prius car has a plug-in hybrid and pure electric version abroad. But even if the Prius ushered in a new generation upgrade in the past few years, it did not shake the market, sales from the third to the ninth is a strong proof.
Tenth place: Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV
Cumulative sales: 41,888 vehicles
Mitsubishi's presence in the fuel vehicle market has not been strong in recent years, but in the field of new energy vehicles, Mitsubishi's potential is still very large, and the battery business is also in a leading position. Under the premise of not introducing China, the world's largest new energy vehicle market, it is not easy for the Outlander plug-in hybrid version to achieve the current results.
